Amara Siva offers tribute address
to Katherine Saubel.
Mrs. Saubel's grandniece, Amara Siva has strong UC connections.
She received her undergraduate degree from UCSD and her
Ph.D. from UCLA in biological chemistry. Amara currently
does research on curding AIDS (HIV) as a postdoctoral
fellow in the Infectious Disease Laboratory at the Salk
Institute in La Jolla. |

Kevin Siva gives his tribute address to Katherine Siva
Saubel. Kevin Siva is Mrs. Saubel's nephew, and in
a real
sense he does a lot of her legwork on the Los Coyotes
reservation, where he serves as entitlements director
and helps oversee the budget. He is very honored to
work
with his aunt and to witness the great contributions
she has made to Los Coyotes, saying in the last few
years
the reservation has moved from the 18th century to the
21st. |

Larry Myers Executive Secretary, Native American Heritage
Commission, delivers his tribute to Katherine Saubel.
Larry Myers was appointed to the Native American Heritage
Commission in 1987 by Governor George Deukmejian and currently
holds the office of Executive Secretary. He is a Pomo
Indian and a member of the Pinoville Band of Indians located
in Northern California. He received his undergraduate
degree in Sociology from San Jose State College and received
his master's degree from the University of Utah in 1972. |

UC Riverside, give his address. Eugene Anderson is a professor
of Anthropology here at UCR. He works with the contemporary
Yucatec Maya of Mexico, studying their management of resources. |

Acting Chancellor David H. Warren, UC Riverside, delivers
his presentation address. Acting Chancellor David H. Warren's
32 year history at UCR is as prominent as his professional
achievements in the psychological research of blindness,
perception and mapping. Dr. Warren joined UCR in 1969
and has served as Executive Vice Chancellor, Dean of the
College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the
Director of UCR's Honors program. |
